Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium, on the Californian coast is unique, beautiful, and stunning to say the least. The aquarium itself is one of a kind. The aquarium is right of the coast, meaning that the floor-to-ceiling windows show viewers the open ocean. The water isn’t aquarium-fish-tank water that the marine animals have to acclimate to. Every night, the water is transferred in directly from the ocean, and gently filtered so that viewers are able to see nature how it should be.

The exhibits at the museum are almost as beautiful as the ocean itself. With seasonal exhibits like the jellyfish, and new ones opening year-round, there is always something new and crazy and exciting to see!

One of the main focuses of the aquarium is the issue of conservation. The aquarium is dedicated to helping protect and save native ocean species that are quickly deteriorating. Here is the aquarium’s ocean conservation page, where you can find out more about the species and issues that are current in the region, and possibly make a donation to keep the aquarium’s impact on the environment strong.
